Tallio Early access
Buying, with perspective

The buying analyst your store never hired.

Tallio reads your Shopify sales and stock, then tells you what to reorder, hold, mark down or stop buying. Every call comes with the reason next to it.

Made for independent stores that carry many brands. Tallio is an early prototype, and the screens on this page use sample data.

01 / What Tallio does

A short list of buying decisions, each with its reason.

Most independent stores buy by feel, because there is no buyer on staff and the numbers live in spreadsheets. Tallio does the reading for you and leaves the decision to you.

Clear calls.
Your decision.

  1. Finds cash stuck in slow stock

Mark down, swap with the vendor, or stop reordering. Shown at what you paid, not what you'd get back.

  2. Spots what is picking up

Recent sales against the months before and the same months last year, so a seasonal bump isn't mistaken for growth.

  3. Stops you buying what you already have

Many months of stock means hold purchases, even when sales are rising.

  4. Turns the calls into a buy you can review

Budget, vendor minimums and lead times shape a draft order. Nothing is ordered for you.

02 / Who it's for

Made for the store that buys from a lot of brands.

Tallio is for independent shops where one or two people decide what to buy, across many vendors, with the numbers spread over Shopify and spreadsheets.

It's for you if

  • You sell on Shopify.
  • You carry many brands and buy from several vendors.
  • You make the buying calls yourself. There's no buyer on staff.
  • Some stock has been sitting a while, and you're not sure what to reorder.

Not a fit yet if

  • Your store isn't on Shopify yet. Other systems are on the way.
  • You mostly make your own products rather than buying from vendors.
  • You want something to place orders for you. Tallio never does.
03 / See it

Watch it work.

This is the real prototype, driven by a script. Pick a screen and watch it do the clicking and typing. The data is a made-up outdoor store and nothing is saved.

Where your cash is sitting

Sample data. Nothing here is saved or changes a store.

    04 / Step by step

    Connect, check, decide.

Three steps, and the last one is always yours.

    Connect

Link your Shopify store. Tallio reads products, orders and inventory, and never changes them.

Read-only. Disconnect anytime from your Shopify admin.

    Check

Before any advice, it shows how complete your data is. If some sales can't be matched to a product, it tells you what to fix instead of guessing.

Missing data never shows as zero.

    Decide

You get a short list of calls, each with its reason. Accept or skip each one.

Accepting records your decision. Nothing is ordered for you.

    05 / About us

Built for one family store first.

We're Carmen Lee and Harjot Kahlon, a couple from Vancouver. Harjot's family runs an independent outdoor store in British Columbia. Tallio started as a way to help them decide what to buy, and we tested the early versions against three years of their data.

What we found there isn't unique to one store. Independent retailers make their biggest spending decisions without a buying analyst, and the tools built for them keep getting shut down or moving upmarket. We're building Tallio for their store and for stores like it.

    Engine & buying logic

Software engineer at a large tech company, with a joint major in Business Administration and Computing Science from SFU. Grew up around his family's store and builds the part of Tallio that makes the buying decisions.

BSc in Biology, plus two years of ultrasound training. Worked retail through high school and university, at Value Village, Winners and a Japanese supermarket, so she knows the shop floor the reports are about.
